Dr. Srinivasan Ancha, Principal Climate Change Specialist, Asian Development Bank (ADB) shared information and progresses achieved so far in the TA-9993: Climate Change Adaptation in Agriculture for Enhanced Recovery and Sustainability of Highlands at the APEC PPFS Webinar on “Sharing good practices on Sustainable Agricultural Development through the Principle of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy”. This TA is supported by the Japan Fund for Prosperous and Resilient Asia and the Pacific (JFPR) through ADB.
This APEC PPFS Webinar, organized on 23-24 May 2022, was hosted by Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE), Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. The webinar is part of the action plan on strategy for rural and urban development of the Policy Partnership on Food Security (PPFS). The purposes of this webinar were to build the capacity of APEC members by sharing experiences, and best practices on promoting sustainable agriculture development in rural areas through the Principle of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) which is a method of development based on moderation, prudence, and social immunity.
The participants at the webinar included representatives from 14 APEC member economies, MOAC, Thai Chamber of Commerce, Chaipatta Foundation, ASEAN Food Security Information System, Asian Development Bank, ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve, Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL and LOXLEY Public Company Limited.
